The National Register of Missing Persons is a national information system which was an agency created by Act in arder to address the crime of enforced disappearance in Colombia, providing an effective tool for institutions to exchange information to assist in investigations and the search of missing persons. Since the implementation of this national system through the SIRDEC technology platform, this process has helped in the search and development of missing persons and has allowed the State, Government and Civil Society provide partial figures and build a reference system case archive requiring attention and continuous research. By its nature, both the aims and objectives set out in the existing law, the National Register of Missing Persons requires commitment from all entities involved permanently for the obligation to make records and reports, and case monitoring, helping this way as a reliable perception of this phenomenon at the national and international level.
