Resumo

Propósito: este artigo foi elaborado para conscientizar no campo forense sobre a importância de conceptualizar claramente as mortes por estabelecer, oferecendo diferentes artigos vigentes disponíveis, utilizando o mais relevante e trazendo-o a um contexto real. Período abarcado, origem e tipos de publicações: foi realizada uma busca em bases de dados e em literatura descrita em livros forenses com informação relevante sobre as muertes por establecer, considerando o intervalo entre 1908 e a atualidade com temas referentes à morte súbita no âmbito forense e no âmbito clínico médico. Ponto de vista: no campo da investigação forense nos vemos desafiados pelas mortes por establecer, que muitas vezes são o calcanhar de Aquiles dos investigadores forenses; a concepção e o conceito da morte por establecer devem estar claros desde o início da abordagem do caso; e, inclusive, começando pela cena dos fatos, deve-se ter clareza sobre como devem ser abordados e, dessa forma, determinar as causas e a maneira de morte com base em um todo como contexto final. Conclusões: a morte por estabelecer é um tipo de morte que deve ser abordada do aspecto geral ao aspecto particular, com bases sólidas, partindo da concepção clara do forense que assume o caso, a abordagem com metodologia e avanço em passos ordenados descritos detalhadamente no protocolo de autópsia, até a elaboração de uma conclusão.
